The Manifesto of the Money Fear Not Initiative
Wealth is a tool, nothing more, nothing less. It is time to discard the notion that acquiring wealth and high-quality property is somehow unspiritual, unmagical, unclean, unethical, or unthelemic. The path of asceticism, which calls for a renunciation of worldly pleasures and extreme austerity, is no longer valid in the New Aeon. Striving for poverty is not noble, and is, in fact, highly insulting to those in the world who live in actual poverty, which is often grueling and dehumanizing.
Fighting greed and financial corruption is a worthy persuit, but this battle is not incompatible with acquiring wealth. Moreover, poverty is a weak weapon against the forces of money-fueled tyranny. Soldiers of Freedom are ill-equipped with rusted swords, inadequate training facilities, and lack of supplies.
The character of any individual or group is not defined by the presence or absence of wealth, but by the honesty of its acquisition, its business-like management, and the wisdom of its use. Avarice and poverty are not the only two choices available—it is possible to seek wealth without giving in to cupidity or moral putrefaction. Wealth is but one tool among many—such as time, labor, skill, and dedication—and while it should not be the highest priority, neither should it be the lowest. Material wealth is not a means unto itself, but a means to an end, providing choices, flexibility, security, comfort, and a greater ability to manifest even the most honorable of aspirations.
